Trump's Granddaughter Receives Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete maintains impressive online audience
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile cheerleaders as she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to play at the Annika tournament in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, possesses numerous courses worldwide and regularly plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa practically told me to compete and relax," she added.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's occupied with world affairs, so he's quite busy."
Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
Yet she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He stands as the top athlete in the world," Kai stated.
"And he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to play, have fun, following the flow."
She'll challenge multiple top competitors in professional golf at the Annika, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA stated that involving Kai exposes golf to new audiences, especially reaching the next generation.
The young star maintains millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
